About “.weber”

“” is a URL that uses the new generic top-level domain (gTLD)* “.weber.”

Weber is one of the first companies in the world to secure exclusive rights to a top level domain, meaning that the traditional location-specific addresses around the world are being replaced by the .weber proprietary name.

As a global leader, Weber is facing various attempts of brand misuse or even counterfeiting. From now on, every visitor to any Weber site can trust what they see: “it’s only weber if it ends .weber”.

This move to a simple, easily remembered and trustworthy top level domain name is a living example of the Weber ‘we care’ signature: a true focus on customer needs and optimizing the experiences people can enjoy every time they interact with the Weber brand.

* In 2008, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the international organization that manages such things as IP addresses and domain resources, promoted the liberalization of application rules for introducing new top-level domains. Until then, although a URL had to end in such top-level domains as .com or .net, as designated by ICANN, by expanding the infrastructure with new gTLDs, various organizations could apply for personalized domains. Weber acquired “.weber” in 2013.
